Electrical Licensing. Electrical work is licensed at various levels in Tennessee (State and Local). The need for a state LLE license is based upon the following: The total cost is less than $25,000; (amount includes materials and labor, unless supplied by the owner (cannot be supplied by the prime/general contractor). See Rule 0680-1.13. To work as an electrical contractor in Nevada, you need a combination of hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge. Though local laws dictate the required amount of training and education, you still need a state-issued license to begin working as an electrician in the Silver State.
I was issued two fake dodgy electrical certificates by two electricians lying to be Part P register and I gave those certificates to the council! What can I expect? I was cheated by electricians, can I now be fined by the council?
Fake Plumbing Certificate. Have you lost your plumbing certification? Without this document, you will have trouble acquiring a job. Simply provide your name and the institution that you attended. Your level three certificate in plumbing will be prepared and shipped to your mailing address as promptly as possible.

19138Hi Sonia, unfortunately qualified electricians are often undercut when quoting for jobs by those such as you have come across claiming qualifications they don't have.
The best way to ensure you have a genuine qualified electrician is to ask to see their trade association identity card, this will have a registration number which you can check on the body's website or by phone. For example my number is 34823 with Elecsa, this can be quickly verified on their site. The other problem is of course that there is nothing to stop people buying genuine interim(hand written) blank certificates from places such as ebay etc.
Your best bet now is to call either Elecsa, Niceic or Napit and ask them for a qualified electrician in your area to do a proper test & cert for you. I would then take this as evidence of your good intentions to the council, they would then be unlikely to fine you as you always tried to do the right thing and you have the fakes you paid for to prove it ?
At the same time report the two cowboys to the councils' trading standards department, how did you come across them? are they advertising somewhere? you may even find that you'll get some of the money back from the dodgy guys who make earning a living for the rest of us such hard work. I do understand that every consumer wants the lowest price but you get what you pay for.
I hope this helps and would be interested to know if your local trading standards get any joy for you.
Best regards,
Simon.

19152Yes its possible to be fined up to £5000 for breaching the regulations. The law places the onus on you as the householder to make the relevant checks to ensure that you are hiring a competent electrician and that the work is registered.
As the other rply has said, this is the touble with the cowboys who often are not any cheaper but seem charming, but actually install shoddy undafe work and with no certificate!
It always pays to hire an NICEIC, ELECSA or NAPIT registered electrician.
